If I were a rock I'd never change
if I were a song you might not hear it
if I were a bird I'd fly away.

If I were a star I would shine brightly
illuminate the darkness all around
if I were a mountain I'd be right up there
if I were a valley I'd be down.

Every living thing is all connected
to every other thing in its own way
and if it were saying something to me
would I hear single thing it has to say.

If I were time I'd have forever
if I were gravity I'd have to say
come on in, it's easy to get closer
but really really hard to get away.

If I were a desert I'd have sunlight
if I were a forest I'd have shade.
if I were a tree down by the river
I'd sit and watch it flowing every day.
